THE EVIDENCE WE COLLECTED

Before this site had votes, it had this: 8,890 Reddit comments read across 64 subreddits, of which 237 were kept as quotable evidence about 124 sellers. Every one is linked to the thread it came from and carries that thread’s date.

What this is, and what it is not

• It does not rank anybody. Sellers are ranked by community votes and by nothing else — see the voting method. No seller’s standing is seeded from a single word below. The most this corpus ever does is break a tie between sellers the votes score identically.
• It is a record of what we read, not a judgement of who is good. A seller with many quotes was talked about a lot. A seller with none was not. Neither fact says anything about their products, their shipping, or whether you should buy from them.
• Newest thread first — ordered by the date of the thread each comment was posted in, and by nothing about the seller. The quotes near the top are not about better sellers than the ones near the bottom; they are simply from newer threads.
• 45 further sellers are deliberately not on this site. We searched and found no Reddit presence at all. Their absence is a finding about our sources and says nothing against them.

What we discarded, and why

• Comments that don’t name the seller. Ranking by score alone once surfaced a 1,772-upvote joke about home cooking as the “verdict” on one seller, and matched a seller called AYA to a discussion of the baby names Ava and Eva.
• Bots. The r/FashionReps link bot reposts every Yupoo URL it sees. One seller scored 138 naming comments with zero sentiment terms because every one was bot output.
• Giveaway entries. “pick me”, “count me in” — naming a seller, saying nothing.
• The seller’s own account. One seller read 6 positive / 0 negative entirely off their own adverts. Comments authored by the seller are dropped.
• Anything under 40 characters once links and markdown are stripped.
• Everything past the 6 best-sourced quotes per seller. Where more comments named a seller than we show, the ones kept are ranked by whether they express a verdict first and by score second — so “they ghosted me after payment” outranks “nice haul”. 13 of the 124 sellers hit that ceiling; on those pages the naming count is higher than the number of quotes below it, and this is why.

What the date on a quote means

• It is the day the thread was posted, and it is labelled as such. The comment bodies we captured carry no timestamp of their own, so we date the thread the comment was written in — a comment exists on or after the day its thread opened. Every one of the 237 quotes has one, joined from the post listing, not estimated.
• We do not round it, infer a narrower one, or present it as the comment’s own date. A date we cannot source is the same problem as a quote we cannot link.

What we never do

• We never publish a score for a seller, from this corpus or from anything else. Sentiment word counts exist in the data as a sort key and are rendered as a headline figure nowhere on this site.
• We never flag a seller as bad. We show sourced quotes with links and thread dates.
• We never quote without a permalink. If we can’t link it, we don’t show it.

The corpus

235 of the 237 quote rows we hold, from 71 of the 124 sellers, across 16 of the 64 subreddits we read. 2 of the rest are the same two comments recorded twice, so they appear once each rather than twice. Nothing else is held back: this is the whole quoted corpus. The other 53 sellers have pages but no comment quoted them.
