fakelab vs ChaosMade: two files built around a silence

In mid-2024, six weeks apart, both of these sellers got a thread asking where they had gone. Only one of those threads was answered, and not by the seller.

Published 2026-08-10

Start with a coincidence in the data rather than with either seller. On 19 May 2024 somebody opened a thread on r/fashionreps2 titled after fakelab having disappeared. On 28 June 2024, six weeks later, somebody opened a thread on r/FashionReps asking whether anyone had heard from ChaosMade.

Those two threads are the hinge of both files. Everything we hold about either seller sits before them or after them, and the two records behave completely differently on each side of the hinge. That difference is what this page is about. No verdict on either store appears below, and nobody here has bought from either one.

The two piles, counted

For fakelab we read 149 comments across five threads on r/FashionReps, r/RepNewbies and r/fashionreps2. Six of those comments are about fakelab. Our crawl resolved no products at all from their albums, and the only brand our corpus attaches to them is Off-White.

For ChaosMade we read 103 comments across five threads on r/FashionReps, r/Yupoo and r/RepsneakersDogs. Five are about ChaosMade. Our crawl resolved 494 items, weighted to apparel, then accessories, then sneakers.

Six comments against five is not a meaningful gap. The catalogue difference is enormous, and it is the only hard difference on this page.

The fakelab thread got an explanation

The most useful comment in either file answers a mechanical question rather than a moral one. It came from a bystander in the disappearance thread:

offline means buy from WeChat directly without weidian or tabao This not mean selller not online You can use Superbuy order and ask fakelab send you weidian links to you

u/OperationNarrow6474, r/fashionreps2, 19 May 2024

That reframes what the two buyers in the thread were experiencing. One of them had written that the seller had stopped replying after a promise to send links. The other asked, flatly:

Fakelab now responding? I send a request on wechat but zero

u/Pleasant-Habit-7287, r/fashionreps2, 19 May 2024

An offline store has no public marketplace page. There is nothing for an agent to buy from unless the seller personally generates a link, so a seller who stops replying takes the entire purchase route with him. That is a structural fact about how the store sold, and it explains the silence without settling anything about why it happened. Our record holds nothing about fakelab after that day.

The ChaosMade thread got a sentence, and then a year of nothing

The only comment we hold from the ChaosMade thread does not answer the question it was posted under:

ChaosMade is an independent seller iirc he makes some good stuff

u/NuitSolitaires, r/FashionReps, 28 June 2024

The word carrying weight there is independent: somebody producing under their own name rather than reselling a factory that also supplies other stores. It has the same practical consequence as fakelab's offline status — if the order goes wrong, there is no second shop carrying the same item.

Then nothing, until June 2025, when one account wrote three comments in a thread telling people not to buy. All three are the same buyer, on the same day, about a 2021 purchase:

I ordered from him also in 2021 (Off-White t-shirt) and it lasted one wash before being completely ruined. I washed it in the most delicate program as well.

u/13ralexh, r/FashionReps, 20 June 2025

I can guarantee that you will wait for that refund or exchange long enough that you will not buy another size from him. I am never buying from chaosmade ever again. You should return the shorts asap, you going to wait maybe weeks before getting refunded and then you should buy shorts from another seller.

u/13ralexh, r/FashionReps, 20 June 2025

One person restating one experience three times is strength of feeling, not three findings. It is also the only durability report and the only refund-timeline claim in either file, and nobody in our corpus agrees or disagrees with it.

Before the hinge, both files are warm

The pre-silence halves read similarly. fakelab's 2022 thread, about an Off-White tee with a 23-day wait, produced this:

Nah fakelab got way better quality he’s the best ow seller right now don’t worry

u/Tys2k, r/FashionReps, 3 September 2022

ChaosMade's 2022 haul thread produced this:

Got these in a haul, and Chaos really surprised me with their quality and price. Had to get some grails, so huge props to Chaos for having these in stock.

u/priinplup, r/FashionReps, 29 September 2022

Both are enthusiastic, both are from September 2022, both stop at a single buyer's impression. The ChaosMade comment runs on into a priced item-by-item breakdown and our stored copy is cut off mid-word partway through, so we stop where the sentences do and leave the rest alone.

Two records that stop before the ending

Neither record tells you how a dispute ended. The fakelab buyers were waiting on replies when our record stops. The ChaosMade buyer says a refund would take weeks; nobody says whether it did.

Neither record has anything recent. The newest usable comment about fakelab is over two years old; the newest about ChaosMade is from June 2025. Both stores are described in our corpus as they were, not as they are.

And the comparison people usually want — who makes better clothes — is not in here. Two enthusiastic 2022 comments and one angry 2025 one do not combine into a ranking, and this site does not build one.

Everything discussed above is a replica. Nothing in either record claims otherwise, and no seller can make a replica into the retail garment.

Where the permalinks are, and how old the links have got

Both evidence pages carry every quote with its permalink: fakelab and ChaosMade. The longer single-seller writeups are here and here, and methodology covers how comments are collected, scored on-topic, and truncated at roughly 300 characters.

If you were handed a link from either 2022 thread, the agent in it has probably shut down. The link decoder reads the item id out of the URL's own shape, so a dead 2022 link usually still resolves. For a first order, how to buy reps covers the agent step and the QC photos, which is the only point where you get to look at the object before it ships.
