This page is shaped differently from the other country pages here, because Argentina's problem is different. Elsewhere the rules are complicated. Here they have been rewritten repeatedly — the door-to-door courier regime, the value allowances, the number of parcels a person may receive, the agency that administers it, and the cost of getting money out of the country have all moved within living memory of the threads you are about to read.
So the useful skill for an Argentine buyer is not memorising a figure. It is dating a claim. What follows carries no rates, allowances or fee amounts on purpose, and points at ARCA, the agency that now administers customs and tax collection, for the version in force on the day you order. None of it is legal or tax advice.
Date every claim before you believe it
The most expensive habit in Argentine rep threads is treating a confident comment as current because it is confident. Comments do not decay visibly, and our corpus is full of the behaviour that spreads stale information — people answering threads years after they were posted:

The value of that comment is not the opinion in it. It is the gap between when the thread was written and when somebody replied, and the fact that a reader arriving later sees one page with both on it. Applied to a seller, that costs an order. Applied to an import allowance, it costs a bill you had ruled out.
A checklist for reading an Argentine thread
- Find the date before the claim. If the comment has no date attached in your reader, open the thread.
- Ask which agency is named. A post that names an authority that no longer administers the process is telling you its own age.
- Ask what the money step looked like. Descriptions of how somebody paid a Chinese agent date a post faster than anything else, because that is what has changed most.
- Ask whether the poster ever confirmed delivery. A great many import threads end at "shipped" and are quoted forever as though they ended at "arrived".
- Treat any specific number as expired until re-checked. Not wrong, necessarily — expired.
The shape the regime keeps returning to
Underneath the revisions the structure has been fairly stable, and the structure rather than the numbers is what is worth carrying.
A simplified door-to-door route exists for small consignments arriving by courier, in which the courier declares on your behalf and delivers once anything owed is settled. Alongside it sits a postal route: slower, more of the process visible, more of your time required. Both are bounded — by the value of a consignment, by how many consignments a person may bring in under the simplified route in a year, and by a cap on how many identical units one shipment may contain, which exists to separate a personal purchase from a small importer.
That last limit is the one rep buyers hit without meaning to. Five of the same tee in different sizes, or a group order consolidated into one box for one recipient, looks exactly like what the rule was written to catch. Your tax identifier and a registered account with the authority are how the process reaches you. Whichever route the parcel takes, it is those credentials, not messages to the agent, that move it.
Paying is a separate problem from clearing
In most countries covered here, paying the agent is trivial and the border is the interesting part. Argentina inverts that often enough to be worth stating: the cost and mechanics of getting money to a Chinese seller have at times been a larger variable than the import charge, and the restrictions and surcharges on foreign-currency spending have been introduced, changed and removed.
Two consequences follow. A quote given in dollars is not the amount that leaves your account, and the difference is not the agent's doing. And refunds run the same gauntlet in reverse, so a dispute resolved in your favour can still return less than you paid. How agent fees work separates what an agent charges from what the payment rail charges, and rep disputes and refunds covers what a resolved dispute actually returns.
Replicas sit outside the simplified route entirely
These are replicas, and goods suspected of infringing a trademark do not travel the road described above. They leave the ordinary clearance process for an enforcement one, in which the rights holder has standing and the recipient's view of value does not enter into it. No courier prevents that and no declared value prevents it, so order at a value you would accept losing outright. What our record holds about Argentina
Nothing, and stating that is more useful than dressing up a guess.
The evidence behind the seller pages is 237 quoted comments about 124 sellers, drawn from 16 subreddits, with the sellers themselves active across 64. National communities appear in that spread — Swedish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Filipino, Basque, Mexican — and no Argentine one anywhere. Not one quoted comment describes an ARCA assessment, a door-to-door allowance, a currency surcharge or a detention here.
There is likewise no charge rate and no inspection rate for Argentina, and no agent's handling of an Argentine clearance dispute has been tested by this site, so nothing here ranks anyone on it; the methodology page explains why that restraint is the product.
An empty record is not reassurance. It means the people writing were talking about clothes.
The only source that is current
Allowances, per-person limits, currency rules and the administering agency itself have all changed, and only ARCA's own publications describe the version in force today. Anything on this page or in a thread describes a mechanism, not a rule.
