KakoBuy vs Superbuy — an honest head-to-head

Two agents compared on what can actually be checked: link handling, referral hops, one documented false outage, and our own click data — plus why this page names no winner.

Published 2026-08-10

Head-to-head agent posts are usually written backwards: the winner is chosen first, by commission rate, and the reasons are assembled afterwards. So before anything else, the number that should make you suspicious of this page.

Around 84% of this site's outbound agent clicks go to KakoBuy. It is, by a wide margin, the agent that pays us most. Any comparison we publish that happens to conclude "KakoBuy" is a conclusion you should read with that in mind — which is a large part of why this one does not conclude anything.

Here is what can actually be compared, and where the comparison runs out.

Both take the whole URL, which is rarer than it sounds

Several agents want a marketplace item id and a platform token before they will show you a product. KakoBuy and Superbuy do not: both accept the entire source URL in a single parameter and resolve it themselves.

Practically this means fewer ways for a link to break. There is no platform token to get wrong, so a Weidian link and a 1688 link travel through the same shape. If you are the person in a group chat who pastes finds for other people, that is a small, real convenience.

Both shapes are also fully recoverable: the marketplace URL sits inside the link, so the decoder can rebuild the item from a KakoBuy or Superbuy link that stopped working years ago.

The referral hop is where they differ

KakoBuy's signup link goes through a separate short host before landing on the site. Superbuy's signup is a registration page on its own domain, carrying a partner code.

That is a difference in plumbing, not in service, and we mention it for one reason: an extra hop is an extra thing that can fail, and it is the sort of failure people misread as "the agent is down". Which brings us to the only outage story either of these two has here.

One documented outage that was not an outage

A bare request to KakoBuy's main host once returned 451 — unavailable for legal reasons — from a European edge, while the two URLs this site actually emits both returned 200 at the same moment. The homepage looked dead. The buy link and the referral link were fine throughout.

That single incident is why our link checker probes the real buy and referral URLs per agent instead of homepages, and why it grades a 451 or a 403 as inconclusive rather than dead. A server refusing one robot, or one region, is not the same as a product page being gone.

The honest reading for a buyer: if KakoBuy's homepage will not open for you, test an actual item link before concluding anything. Superbuy has produced no equivalent incident in our checks, which is a statement about our sample, not a clean bill of health.

Fees and shipping: the same four-part stack

Neither agent charges one number, and comparing their headline service fees alone will mislead you. Both orders are built the same way:

  1. Item price plus domestic Chinese shipping to the warehouse.
  2. A service or purchase fee for buying on your behalf.
  3. Storage, usually free for an opening window, then per day.
  4. International freight, quoted only once packed, on chargeable weight — the greater of actual and volumetric.

Add-ons — extra QC photos, box removal, repacking, insurance — sit on their own lines at both.

We are not printing either agent's current percentages or freight rates, because we have not audited them and they move. Read both fee pages the same afternoon if you want a real comparison; that is the only version of this that is worth anything, and it takes ten minutes. The indicative shipping bands in how to buy reps apply to both, since both are reselling the same sort of forwarder capacity.

Why our click data is not evidence

Back to that 84%. It is a real measurement of this site's own audience, and it measures almost nothing you care about:

Popularity on a referral link is a measure of marketing, and treating it as a quality signal is how the entire rep-agent review genre became untrustworthy. The same instinct governs how this site ranks sellers: standing comes from earned votes and nothing else, and the method page spells out what is capped so that no one can buy their way up.

What a real comparison would need

Nothing below exists here yet, and until it does neither agent is ranked:

How to decide without us

Pick a product you would actually buy — from the shelf, or from a seller with quoted evidence behind them on the seller pages — paste it into the decoder, and open both agents on the same item. Compare the two checkout flows, the two fee pages, and which interface you can read without squinting. Then start small, because the first order is where you learn the process rather than where you win.

If you want the same treatment of the other pairing this site gets asked about, CnFans vs MuleBuy is next door.
