Four of the 237 comments we quote across this site were posted in r/1688Reps. All four name the same seller, and all four come from just two threads: a haul post in September 2025 and a zip-up post in February 2026. One of those threads is an argument about fleece linings and blend ratios. The other contains somebody who cannot work out how to contact the shop at all.
Put side by side, those two problems are a fair description of what buying from the wholesale tier is like, which is the only claim this page makes about the sub. It is small and specialised in our data — two of the 124 sellers we index carry it — and there is no subscriber count, moderator name or rule summary below, because we did not collect them.
The half of the record that is about fabric
The February 2026 thread is titled with a number: the weight of the garment being discussed. That is unusual. Elsewhere in our corpus threads are titled with a brand, a silhouette or a seller, and the argument underneath is about whether a logo sits right. Here the argument is about composition:
There are also pure cotton ones. Artie has a winter line which is 48% polyester because it has a fleece lining inside and a 100% cotton line which is a bit less warm for summer.

Nobody in that exchange is checking a logo, because there is not one to check. When the item is a blank — a plain hoodie, a zip-up, a tee — what you are buying is a specification, and a wholesale listing is written as a specification. Judging fabric weight covers what a gram figure does and does not promise you once the garment is in your hands, and what 1688 is covers why that tier of listing reads like a spec sheet in the first place.
It is worth noticing what this makes the sub good at. Two commenters disagreeing about whether a line is 100% cotton or a blend are having a resolvable argument. Two commenters disagreeing about whether a rep of a logo is convincing are not.
The half that is about finding the seller at all
The September 2025 thread is an ordinary haul write-up — one buyer, a shipment through an agent, item-by-item notes. The second comment under it is somebody stuck one step earlier:

That is the structural cost of the wholesale end of this market, stated by somebody who was living it. A Yupoo album is a shop window with a chat handle attached; a trade listing is a page written for a buyer who already has a relationship with the factory. Neither is designed for a stranger abroad, and the gap is where most of the frustration lives.
The practical answer is that you were never going to message anybody. A shopping agent buys on your behalf, receives the goods, photographs them and forwards them, so what you actually need is a link rather than a contact. Paste whatever URL you have into the link decoder — it reads the item id out of the URL's own shape, with no network call, so even a dead link from an old thread usually still resolves. One seller carries the entire record
ARTIE is named in 5 of the 174 comments we read for them, across r/FashionReps, r/1688Reps and r/fashionreps2. Four of those five comments are the r/1688Reps ones above. The fifth was posted in the big general sub in November 2025 and identifies a different shortage entirely:

Spec-heavy, photograph-poor. A trade listing publishes the weave and withholds the drape, and a sub organised around that tier inherits the imbalance. If the fit is what you are unsure about, using fit references and how to measure for reps are worth more here than any number of blend ratios. ABC: one subreddit, 35 brand tags, no comment
The other seller tied to r/1688Reps is ABC, and it is the sharpest example in our corpus of a mismatch between claim and record.
It carries 35 distinct brand tags, running from Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Cartier through Arc'teryx, Rick Owens and Denim Tears — among the widest claims anybody in our index makes. We read 36 comments across the single post we found. Not one names the seller. r/1688Reps is the only subreddit in its footprint, so there is no second room to go and check.
A broad brand list is a statement about what a shop photographs, not about what it makes or how it ships. Where it comes with 36 read comments and no naming mention, the honest summary is that nobody wrote anything down. We publish that as a zero rather than rounding it into silence-means-fine, and our methodology explains why the zero is the useful part.
What the sub is actually for
- Specification questions, not appearance questions. Weight, blend, lining — the things a trade page states and a thread can confirm.
- Cross-checking a tier, not finding a seller. Two names is not a roster. The seller index and the general subs are where names accumulate.
- Expecting to see fewer worn photos. Plan the fit yourself; the community photo supply here is visibly thinner.
- Remembering what the platform changes and what it does not. Weidian, Taobao and 1688 compared sets out the differences that are real. These are replicas at every tier, and which counter you buy from changes the paperwork, not the object.
