Two people replied to the same review of the same shoe on the same day. One said you have to size up. The other said the fit matches retail. Both comments are in our corpus, both were posted in r/Repsneakers, and between them they are two-thirds of everything we hold from that subreddit.
That is the honest shape of our r/Repsneakers record: three sellers carry a footprint there, three of the 237 comments we quote across this site were posted there, and they span 17 May 2018 to 15 January 2023. This page does not describe the sub's size, rules or moderation, because we did not measure any of it.
Three sellers, and where their record actually sits
- NAISAN, strong evidence: 11 of 101 comments read name them. Three subs, and the source of two of our three r/Repsneakers quotes.
- FIRE KICKS, some evidence: 2 of 41. Four subs, one r/Repsneakers quote.
- CSJ, named: 0 of 59 comments read mention them, across six subs. We hold nothing quotable about them from anywhere.
Combined, that is 201 comments read and 13 that name a seller. Eight became quotes. Four of those eight were written in r/FashionReps instead, and the fifth in r/sneakerreps.
The same review, posted twice, one day apart
The interesting thing about our r/Repsneakers material is not what it says. It is that it is a duplicate.
On 16 May 2018 somebody posted a comparison of a NAISAN Gucci Ace against a retail pair in r/FashionReps. On 17 May 2018 the same comparison ran in r/Repsneakers under the same title. We hold comments from both threads, attached to the same seller, and the two conversations are not copies of each other — different people showed up in each room and said different things.
In the r/FashionReps version, the argument was about colour and about who would do the legwork of proving it:

If anyone wants to put the whole "his bees are better" thing to the test I have Naisan's Bee Aces, I can take some HD photos to match anyones retail photos if they want. I got size EUR32 (he recommended to size one up).

Not really, the fit is the same of retail, I wear 44 EUR and bought 43 EUR from naisan (9,5US)

Read the second one closely, because it is a good example of how sizing advice decays into folklore. The commenter says the fit matches retail, and in the same breath reports wearing a 44 and buying a 43. That is a description of sizing down by one, offered as a description of sizing true. Meanwhile the commenter in the mirrored FashionReps thread reports that the seller himself recommended going up.
Three data points, three different instructions, all from one weekend in 2018 about one silhouette. Nobody was lying. They had different feet, possibly different production runs, and no shared measuring method — which is exactly why our shoe sizing guide argues for a measured foot length over a remembered conversion, and why how to measure for reps exists at all.
Notice also that u/Emann222 appears in both rooms. One commenter's opinion, counted twice, looks like two opinions if you are tallying rather than reading.
The third comment is a vouch request from 2023
The remaining r/Repsneakers comment in our corpus is five years newer and concerns a different seller. It was posted under a thread asking whether anyone could vouch for the site:
I have purchased from Hot kicks, shoes were decent. Found better quality with other sellers. But this is a good start if you're skeptical of reps. These are decent.

That is the entire r/Repsneakers record for FIRE KICKS. One person, an unstated number of pairs, no item named, no date of purchase, and a comparison to unnamed better sellers. The other comment we hold about this seller was posted in a different sub eighteen months earlier and describes an order that went quiet after payment.
What a mirrored thread does to a count
If you are assessing a seller by how much has been written about them, the crosspost is the trap. The same review appearing in two subs makes a footprint look twice as wide, and one of the same people replying in both makes the agreement look broader than it is. Our own numbers have this property: NAISAN appears in three subreddits, and the material from two of them comes from a single Gucci Ace comparison that was posted twice.
The correction is to read threads rather than count them.
- Open the permalink before you weigh a comment. Every quote on this site links to its thread; two quotes from one thread are one conversation.
- Check the date against the item. Everything above about NAISAN is from 2018 and describes a shoe made eight years ago. It is not evidence about what ships today, and is NAISAN23 legit says so at length.
- Treat sizing claims as personal measurements. "Size up" is not a property of a seller. It is one person's foot in one model.
- Rebuild the link, not the memory. Old sneaker threads point at listings that moved years ago; the link decoder recovers the item from the URL itself.
