Somebody in a thread says their haul shipped for a figure. Yours quoted much higher — same weight, same country, same week. The instinct is to conclude one agent is cheap and the other is fleecing you, and to move accounts on the strength of it.
Before that, hold on to one sentence: two agents are never quoting the same parcel. They are quoting two different physical boxes, packed by different people, on different scales, against different wholesale contracts, with different things folded into the total. The items inside are the only identical part, and the items are not what freight is priced on.
This page is about that cross-sectional gap — two quotes, same moment. Why the same line quotes differently week to week covers the time axis, and the quote came back double covers one alarming number in isolation.
Tier one: what the scale actually sees
Freight is priced on a chargeable figure derived from your packed box, so anything that changes the box changes the quote before any pricing decision is made.
- Packing style. Carton sizes, filler, how tightly soft goods are compressed. Two competent packers produce boxes of different dimensions from identical contents.
- What was thrown away. Whether shoe boxes, dust bags and retail packaging were removed, and whether that happened by default or because you ticked something. Usually the largest single input on a shoe parcel.
- The volumetric divisor. The number a line uses to convert size into billable weight. It belongs to the forwarder, not the agent, and differs between lines that look alike.
- Rounding. Lines charge a first weight band then increments, both rounded up. Two boxes a hundred grams apart can land in different bands.
Comparing agents on freight means controlling for all four, which is harder than it sounds and is why most comparisons in threads are not comparisons.
Tier two: what the line costs them
An agent is not a carrier. It resells capacity bought from freight forwarders, so the menu is a reseller's catalogue — the mechanism is in what you are actually buying in that dropdown. Three consequences follow.
The line lists are not the same list. Agent A may not offer the route agent B is cheap on, so comparing their cheapest options compares two different products.
Same-sounding names are not the same line. A name is a label over a contract you cannot see, including which domestic carrier delivers the last leg.
Volume buys rates. An agent moving more boxes on a lane pays less per kilo. That is ordinary commerce, it changes as contracts are renegotiated, and it means the ranking between two agents on one lane is not stable over a year.
Tier three: what the bill has folded into it
Two quotes can differ while the freight underneath is identical, because a quote is a bundle.
- Tax treatment. Some lines prepay destination import charges into the number; others quote freight only and leave you the bill on arrival. An inclusive quote against an exclusive one is not a like-for-like difference, it is a different purchase.
- Insurance defaults. Often calculated on declared value, and sometimes pre-ticked.
- Per-parcel handling, packing and operation fees. They attach to the box, not the contents, and they are named differently by each agent.
- The service fee base. A percentage charged on the item price, on item plus domestic postage, or on the order total are three different quantities. How agent service fees work takes the invoice apart.
- Currency conversion. The rate and the spread between the yuan figure and what leaves your bank is rarely a visible line.
- Coupons and tiers. A screenshot from an account with a promotional code or a membership rate applied is not describing the price you would pay.
Thirteen inputs across the three tiers, and the items in the box are none of them.
The gap between an advertised price and a quoted one
There is a specific version of this that has nothing to do with agents at all, and it is the closest thing our record holds to a shipping-price dispute. A buyer describing a seller's direct shipping:

One buyer's account of one exchange, unverified, on the JustGoKick page. It is quoted for the structure rather than the seller: a published figure is a headline, a quoted figure is attached to a real parcel going to a real address. The same distinction separates any agent's calculator page from the number you get after your box has been weighed.
The only comparison worth running
If you genuinely want to know which agent is cheaper for you, the protocol is short and nobody does it.
- The same items, in the same week. A month between measurements measures the calendar.
- The same packing instructions, stated to both: boxes removed or kept, compression or none.
- Quote every line at both, recording chargeable weight next to each price.
- Compare tax-inclusive with tax-inclusive.
- Compare the all-in total — goods, domestic leg, service fee, freight, add-ons — against what left your bank.
- Write it down, with the date, because it expires.
That is a real experiment with a real cost, and its result is about your country, your items and that month.
Four comparisons that prove nothing
- Your quote against a stranger's total. Different destination, different packing, different week, usually different contents.
- A calculator estimate against a real quote. The estimate is a model of a box; the quote is a measurement of one.
- Two quotes taken before and after repacking. You changed the parcel between measurements.
- A single transit time read as a price signal. Threads produce exactly one kind of shipping datum, and it is this shape:

One parcel, one agent, one destination, in January 2025, on the SixGods page. It is a genuine data point about speed and it cannot be differenced against anything, because there is no second measurement holding the other variables still.
What our record contains on this
Nothing usable. This site holds 237 quoted comments across 124 sellers, gathered from haul threads about garments and shoes. Twelve name a shopping agent at all, and none compares two agents' quotes for one parcel — people post the item, not the invoice.
So there are no rates on this page, no per-kilo figures, no divisor and no ranking. We have never run the matched basket described above, and this site earns a commission when somebody opens an agent account through its links, which the methodology page states in full. Those two facts together are why no name appears here.
