unionkingdom vs somakicks: both records have the vendor in them

One file is a thread the seller posted themselves. The other is a complaint thread the vendor's boss answered in public. Two comments each, four years apart.

Published 2026-08-10

Most Reddit evidence about a rep seller is written by strangers with no stake in it. Neither of these two files is. In both records the seller's side of the table is present in the thread — posting it in one case, answering it in the other — and once you notice that, it is the only honest thing to compare them on.

Two quoted comments each. No score below, no ranking, and nothing here says whether either shop is worth your money.

Two files, four years apart, the same shape

For UNIONKINGDOM we read five threads and 175 comments across r/FashionReps, r/QualityReps and r/weidianwarriors. Two comments are on topic, both posted on 28 July 2021, both in the same thread.

For SOMO, at the handle somakicks, we read five threads and 48 comments across r/RepsneakersDogs, r/fashionreps2 and r/RepSneakerFans. Two comments are on topic, both posted on 29 July 2025, both in the same thread.

Same size, same one-thread shape, almost exactly four years apart. And in each case the thread is one the vendor was standing inside.

UNIONKINGDOM: the seller posted it

The 2021 thread is the store showing its own product to a subreddit. You can see that in the first comment, because of who it is addressed to:

u/unionkingdom Are these RETAIL/Authentic pairs in picture? Or, these are your batch?

u/nightlord24, r/FashionReps, 28 July 2021

That is a reader asking the seller, in the seller's own thread, whether the photographs show the goods being sold or the originals they copy. Our record does not contain the answer.

The second comment is the only one that describes the product at all:

these are priced at 100 yuan, also, the unionkingdom white bape shorts are actually closer to retail than angel kings

u/bradclase101, r/FashionReps, 28 July 2021

Take the 100 yuan as a five-year-old number quoted verbatim rather than as a price. We publish no prices of our own because a figure that was true once and is wrong now reads like information. And "closer to retail" is a comparison made by eye, probably from photographs, against a different seller's shorts. These are replicas; nobody in the quote claims otherwise and neither do we.

SOMO: the vendor answered a complaint

The 2025 thread runs the other way. It was posted as a warning about a switched pair of Air Jordan 1s, and the vendor side turned up in the replies. The buyer, after somebody stepped in:

I was already sorting it out with the seller through my agent, and it’s not a huge issue when you use one (pro tip: always use an agent, guys!). That said, I’m not convinced by Somo’s explanation.

u/AltruisticInjury485, r/RepsneakersDogs, 29 July 2025

Our stored copy continues past that and is cut off mid-word, so we stop at the sentence. Two things are true in it at once: the problem was being handled, and the buyer did not believe the account they were given. A summary that keeps only the first half is not a summary.

The intervention itself is the most upvoted thing anyone wrote in our sample of this seller:

Sorry this happened to you. As the boss, I apologize. I’ve taken care of it for you, and now SOMO will handle it — this isn’t his problem.

u/RealShoddy, r/RepsneakersDogs, 29 July 2025

We are quoting that exactly and interpreting nothing. We cannot confirm who the account belongs to, what its arrangement with the store is, or what "taken care of" meant, because our record ends where the thread does. We have not verified the underlying allegation, and it should be read as an allegation.

What a vendor in the room does to a record

Not a scandal. It is normal in this corner of Reddit, and it is worth naming every time because it changes what a thread is evidence of.

Read red flags that a rep seller is about to waste your money for the outcomes this kind of corpus structurally under-counts: threads are overwhelmingly hauls, and a haul gets posted when a parcel arrives.

2021 and 2025 are not comparable years

The four-year gap makes the two files unlike each other in a way that has nothing to do with either shop. Stores change hands and keep the handle. Product lines drift. The subreddits themselves changed.

You can see the drift inside our own data. The single brand tag we hold for UNIONKINGDOM is Essentials, while the 2021 thread that produced both quotes concerns Eric Emanuel shorts and mentions Bape. For SOMO, tagged Nike, Jordan, New Balance, Yeezy and Asics, the whole file is the aftermath of one alleged switch on one silhouette.

What neither file contains

Neither holds an ordinary haul review — an item described in hand, by someone with nothing at stake, outside a thread the vendor was in. Neither holds a measurement, a shipping time you could plan around, or a second independent voice.

Our index holds 72 UNIONKINGDOM items, weighted to apparel then bags then outerwear, and zero items for SOMO, so one store can be browsed from here and the other cannot. That is a fact about our crawl.

On this evidence the comparison cannot be settled, and manufacturing a difference between two two-comment files would be the dishonest move. What you can do instead is check whether either shop is still the operation the thread describes — how to evaluate a rep seller covers what a handover looks like from outside.

Both files sit with their permalinks on the UNIONKINGDOM page and the SOMO page. Run any surviving link through the link decoder, which rebuilds a buy link from the id inside the URL even for a 2021 thread, and read how to buy reps for the agent step that the 2025 buyer credits with keeping their problem small.
